Audiobooks are a great way to learn or improve a new language. Listen to them while you read along, it helps you visualize and understand how the words are written and spoken.

Braiding Sweetgrass changed my life! I read it over 2 years ago, and I don't think there is a week that goes by that I don't think of it or reference it in conversation or in my work.

It is so beautiful - did you listen to the audiobook? She reads it amazingly

No I didn’t, I read the physical book, which I’m kinda glad since I underlined like half the book haha. But I would “read” again with the audiobook to listen to her!

The audiobook of Pet Sematary, narrated by Michael C. Hall is perfection. He expresses the grief of that book masterfully.

I actually love that goodreads feels so old school, to me it feels friendly and cozy! And like it’s not gonna steal all my data 🙃

After a years-long relationship with Goodreads, I have also adopted a StoryGraph account. I also just finished reading Margot's Got Money Troubles by Rufi Thorpe and it was absolutely hilarious! I also hate-loved all the characters, which I think is what made it so enjoyable. I am now reading After Annie by Anna Quindlen and I have no idea if I will finish it. It really is so sad and I am not in the best mood to be reading something so sad!

I love audiobooks! I think they are a great company while taking care of household tasks et cetera. Love the idea of switching off with an audiobook and jigsaw, will have to look for one for myself! Audiobooks are great for running too I think. For me, the reader is such a big maker for how much I enjoy the book. Sometimes I look for other books the reader has recordered if I enjoyed their reading, and it's a great way to discover new favourites. Also always have a paper copy of another book alongside any audiobook (reading and listening to multiple copies at once works well for me), as I don't think it has to be one or the other. You can love books and stories in all different ways!

I just finished reading Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel and I thought it was very well written. You might enjoy it if you haven't read it already.

As for David Copperfield, it was originally written as a serial, not a book. Victorians would have read it in pieces, kind of like how we wait for a new episode of a tv series to come out each week. It was probably easier to read that way than all at once in a book format.

Also, I never heard of The StoryGraph until you mentioned it. I just use Goodreads.

Try A Tale of Two Cities if you haven’t read it just yet.

Yes to jigsaws! They have an immediate calming effect. I have a 2,000-piece taking up my entire dining table at the moment, so will be eating on the couch for the foreseeable future.

I’m currently reading The Art Thief by Michael Finkel. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for fast pace non fiction. It reminds me of Patrick Keefe writing, both make you feel like you’re reading fiction. It’s such an engrossing story that is utterly shocking!
